“Dance Mom” Abby Lee Miller released from prison

Reality television star Abby Lee Miller has been released from prison and transferred to a halfway house in Long Beach, California.

The Dance Moms alum is currently serving a 366 day sentence for bankruptcy fraud, for which she was charged after attempting to hide $775,000 of income from the government, according to TMZ.  She is also required to pay multiple fines and provide a DNA sample due to her felony conviction. The final months of her incarceration, however, will be served at the Residential Reentry Center, where she will receive employment counseling, job placement and financial management assistance, says PEOPLE.

Despite fears of being “physically abused or raped,” Miller seemed to make the most of her time in prison. She says she is “extremely proud of herself” after passing two of the classes she has taken over the course of her sentence.

In addition, Miller has reportedly lost around 100 pounds since she first was incarcerated in July. This is the result of gastric bypass surgery which she underwent just prior to her sentencing, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“I am feeling great and ready to turn over a new leaf,” she wrote in an Instagram post. In order to keep up with her weight loss, Miller has already made requests for multiple surgeries including a tummy tuck and breast lift, says Entertainment Weekly.

“I’ve always put everybody else’s child first before my own health, before my own outfit, before my own time frame,” she told ET prior to serving her sentence. “Everybody else was dressed and out the door and looking perfect and I was running around trying to find a clean towel to take a shower with, so I think this will be a little ‘me’ time.”

She seems to be making good on that promise.
